Dining & cafes: The Corso, the pedestrian strip linking the wharf to the ocean, is lined with cafes, pubs, gelato bars, fish and chips, and casual eats. Along the beachfront, you’ll find everything from surf-side cafes to fine dining at institutions like Hugos Manly and The Pantry. East Esplanade and Manly Wharf offer waterfront dining with harbour views. Tucked-away laneways hide acclaimed restaurants, natural wine bars, and specialty coffee roasters favoured by locals.
Transport & access: The Manly Ferry to Circular Quay is a Sydney classic – a 30-minute journey that doubles as a harbour tour. Faster Manly Fast Ferry services take around 18 minutes. A broad network of buses (B-Line included) runs to the CBD, Warringah Mall and the full Northern Beaches. Parking is limited but public transport is so good you rarely need a car.

“Welcome to 'Budget Beach Bonanza,' where the stairs are your unexpected gym and the ancient fans play at being wind machines. The lockbox is part of a fun dumpster-side treasure hunt. Early birds will adore our pigeon wake-up calls. The living room features a 'surprise' couch – spoiler alert: it's not as comfy as it looks. This place isn't the Ritz, but it's big, cheap, and beach-adjacent. Perfect for the un-fussy adventurer!”

“The apartment is very nice, very large and well-equipped. It is close to all amenities, supermarket, restaurant, pharmacy, wine, beach and iron. The bedding is very soft, difficult when you have back pain. In the evening, the neighborhood is lively so noisy. But it remains a great apartment extremely well located in Manly Genial we recommend!!”

This part of Manly is lovely, very vibrant with lots of great food options close by. We used public transport and hired e bikes to visit the area and Sydney central. Brilliant.”
