Newport is a relaxed beachside village on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, around 40 minutes north of the CBD and beautifully positioned between the surf of Newport Beach and the calm waters of Pittwater. With its golden sand, leafy streets and unhurried pace, it feels like a true holiday from the moment you arrive — yet still has everything you need close at hand.

Dining & cafés: Barrenjoey Road is the heart of Newport’s dining scene, with a relaxed mix of cafés, brunch spots and bakeries alongside the likes of Nopales for modern Mexican and Lovat for market-fresh seafood and steaks. On the Pittwater side, The Newport is a Northern Beaches institution — a sprawling waterfront beer garden and food marketplace serving wood-fired pizza, burgers, fresh seafood and more, all with sunset views over the water.

Transport & access: Frequent buses run along Barrenjoey Road, connecting to the high-frequency B-Line service from nearby Mona Vale for a direct run through to Wynyard in the city.
