Neighbourhood Guide: Crows Nest

Crows Nest is a buzzing, food-focused lower North Shore suburb known for its cafe culture, village atmosphere and increasingly urban feel. Anchored by Willoughby Road and the Pacific Highway, it combines the charm of tree-lined side streets with the energy of Sydney’s best eating strip outside the inner east.

Dining & cafes: Few Sydney suburbs pack as many restaurants per block as Crows Nest. Willoughby Road alone hosts Italian trattorias, Korean BBQ, Japanese izakayas, Middle Eastern, modern Australian, Mexican, pub classics and dessert bars. The cafe scene is outstanding – specialty coffee roasters, brunch spots, bakeries and patisseries draw crowds on weekends. Tucked-away cocktail bars and long-running local pubs give evenings a lively edge.

Transport & access: The new Crows Nest Metro station has transformed access, delivering turn-up-and-go services south to the CBD (about 10 minutes to Barangaroo) and north to Chatswood and beyond. Frequent buses along the Pacific Highway reach Wynyard in around 15 minutes, and cross-suburb services connect to Mosman, Neutral Bay and the Northern Beaches. St Leonards station is a short walk for additional rail options.

Wonderful location, short walk to the centre of Crows Nest. The house was fabulous, absolutely everything we needed and more. The bedrooms were perfect, very comfortable. Thank you for having us!

Nicely presented townhouse in a convenient position. Very clean and tidy and beds were comfortable. Air conditioning was great and nice natural light through the property. Our car was too big to really use the underground car space so we’d only recommend for small cars. Street parking wasn’t too bad each day.

Thank you Shiran for having us to your fantastic home. It was within walking distance to the Mater hospital, cafes and supermarkets. It was the perfect base for our family, including elderly parents whilst my mother underwent surgery at the Mater.

Very comfortable and convenient townhouse with lots of space. Kitchen had everything needed and beds were very great. Shiran and colleagues were easy to communicate with when we were not able to access the parking due to the garage door malfunctioning (this was fixed). There was no outdoor furniture/outdoor dining as indicated in the photos, although this did not affect our stay. The actual car space is narrow and difficult to get into and out of due to the angle, so would only recommend it for a small car. Overall however, a great stay! Thank you!
